| Rose cultivation. Tub rose cultivation methods and rose care |
Climate and soil: Roses are mainly winter and temperate flowers. Rose trees do not thrive in warmer or humid climates. 20-30 degrees Celsius. Temperature, 85% relative humidity and average annual rainfall of 100-125 cm are suitable for rose cultivation. 6.0-6.5 pH standard well drained and fertile loamy soil is ideal for rose cultivation.
Jatah roses in the world, there are many different varieties of roses. Some of the varieties cultivated in Bangladesh are : Mirandi, Papa Meland, Double Delight, Taj Mahal, Paradise, Blue-Moon, Montezuma, Tata Center, City of Belfast etc.
Planting time:
October to February is the best time to plant rose saplings in Bangladesh.
Reproduction of roses:
Rose trees propagate through seeds, cuttings, cocoon pens and eye pens. Only in the case of breeding or crop development programs, roses are propagated through seeds. However, the main method of producing new trees is budding or eye pen, through which flowers are produced commercially. The eyes of the breed that is bred are conveniently placed on another root stock. Indigenous plants also play an important role in the vitality, productivity, flowering qualities, durability of shrubs, disease resistance, adaptation to soil and climate. Early pair cuttings (pencil shape) are made in late summer and planted in rows in the nursery at a distance of 25-30 cm. After about 6 months, these cuttings produce suitable shaped stems for budding. In the case of roses, T-budding is mainly done.
Cultivation of tub roses:
Location pot open and the lights rose blowy tub should be places where the plant receives morning sun kiranasaha 6-8 hours of sunshine. It is best not to plant in the afternoon sun (especially in summer), as this can cause the flowers to turn pale. Care should be taken in the rose tree so that light falls all around. Because if there is light on one side, the tree will grow only in the direction of light. For this, the tree with the tub has to be rotated from time to time. To protect the rose plant from the hot summer sun, keep the tub in the sun and shade periodically and keep the tub in good condition and the flowers will be available for a long time.
Soil preparation:
Clay soil is not suitable for rose cultivation. Fertilizer soil for the tub should be prepared in such a way that the soil is quite loose and water does not accumulate. Make a mixture of 1 part loam soil, 3 parts dung manure or compost, 1 part leaf rot manure, half part sand (white sand of river is better) and mix it with a handful of mustard oil and a spoonful of lime. Leave it in the tub for 1 month. The soil should be turned upside down with water in this 1 month tub. The soil mixture will be better. Many have also found good results by using tea leaves used in soil mixtures. The broken pieces of bricks or earthenware pots should be spread in a few cm below the bottom of the tub in such a way that the soil of the tub rests on them. This will facilitate the drainage of excess water.
Tub size: The size of the tub depends on the variety of rose to be cultivated. Use 20 cm (6 inch) tub for smaller variety, 30 cm (12 inch) or larger tub for larger variety. However, the size of the tub that will be planted in the first year, the next year, if the tree is transferred to a large-sized tub, more large flowers will be available.
Time of planting seedlings in tubs:
Rose seedlings can be planted in tubs at any time of the year . However, September-October and January-February are the best time to plant seedlings. If the seedlings are planted at this time, flowers will be available for a long time. It will also be convenient to take care of the trees and the incidence of diseases and insects in the trees is relatively less.
Planting seedlings in tubs:
Seedlings or seedlings can be purchased in polythene bags or small earthen tubs with soil balls. If the seedling is in a tub, the seedling should be taken from the tub along with the whole soil in such a way that it does not break or damage the roots. If you collect seedlings with wet soil, they should be dried a little. Unnecessary old or dead branches of the tree should be lightly pruned before planting. Then place the seedling straight in the middle of the tub and put some compost manure on the top of the tub with light pressure. The seedlings should be planted in such a way that the git / episode of bud emergence is on the ground.
Irrigation:
Irrigation should be done at least 2-3 times after placing in the tub. In case of seedlings, care should be taken to protect the tree from strong sun or rain. Rose yield will be better if 3/4 hours of sun exposure is given in the first stage and 7-8 hours of sunshine is given gradually. Care should be taken during irrigation so that water does not stand at the base of the tree. More water is required when young leaves and buds are released. Irrigation should be given in the morning and evening at this time. All the plants including the stalks should be soaked with water.
Fertilizer application:
Fertilizer should be given every 15-30 days from 1 month after planting. Immediately after winter i.e. at the end of March or early April, 8/10 cm soil layer should be removed from the top of the tub and the empty space should be filled with rotten dung manure and new hollow soil. After that the roots of the tree should be covered with straw or leaves to protect them from the hot summer sun. After pruning in winter, apply 3 handfuls of powdered dung manure and 1 handful of steamed bone powder or steramill in each tub. Later in the whole winter, apply 1 handful of steamed bone meal or steramill every 1 month.
Leaf manure and foliar sprays are popular for producing more flowers on roses. This fertilizer is prepared by mixing a few chemical fertilizers. In winter, foliar should be sprayed by 8 am. Two types of leaf manure are used in the plant, one to provide health and flowering of the plant and the other to provide trace elements, such as urea, di-ammonium sulphate and di-potassium phosphate. . For trace elements, 20 g of magnesium sulphate, 15 g of manganese sulphate, 10 g of ferrous sulphate, 5 g of borax should be mixed and sprayed at the rate of 2 g per liter of water. Pesticides or pesticides can be sprayed with two leaves of fertilizer but two fertilizers cannot be mixed and sprayed at the same time.
Leaf manure is essential for tub roses and beneficial for ground roses. The leaves should be sprayed well on both sides. Instead of chemical liquid fertilizer, dung and mustard oil can be decomposed in water for 4/5 days and used as liquid 2 days a week. This type of liquid fertilizer plays an important role in growing new shoots and flowers. In the absence of liquid fertilizer, small fish can be watered at the base of the plant. Weak trees can be kept fresh by mixing 2 grams of urea per liter of water and spraying on the leaves in the morning and afternoon.
Lime Water prayogah per liter of water 1 teaspoon powdered lime clean well water soluble thin nyakaraya is straining every 3 months. Within 15 days of lime-watering, only water should be given without any other fertilizer.
Pruning:
Regular pruning is done to remove dead and diseased twigs, to give proper shape to the tree, to flower on each twig and to get the required sunshine. Rose is a branching shrub. The tree should be pruned as soon as the flowering is over. Regular pruning of trees gives more and larger flowers. October-November is the best time for pruning after monsoon. Usually 20-25 cm (8-10 inches) large pulses should be pruned. The stalks should be cut in such a way that they do not get crushed or torn. For this you have to use a sharp knife. White, yellow, light yellow and two-colored varieties of roses should be pruned very lightly and red varieties should be pruned hard.
After pruning, there may be an attack of dieback disease. Therefore both pesticides and fungicides should be applied before and after pruning.
Disease - Insect control:
Caterpillars or any other harmful insects should be caught and killed as soon as they are seen. Red spider attacks and die back diseases are quite deadly. Many parts of the rose tree turn black and die. This disease is called die back. The diseased part of the plant should be cut and Ditherer M-45 mixed with 2 g / liter of water should be sprayed.
Seedling collection:
Healthy and good seedlings should be collected during seedling collection. When collecting seedlings, it is necessary to check whether the soil golla at its base is exactly there. It is better not to take the seedlings when the roots of the seedlings are out with the soil. It is better to collect saplings from trusted and known nurseries as per the advice of experienced people.
